What is Create-A-Cookbook?

Create-A-Cookbook is a compilation of recipes you select from your Recipe Box. They are bound into a high-quality, professionally-printed, personalized, 8-1/2" x 11" book with a layout we provide.

What will the Create-A-Cookbook contain?

There are some pages already created for you; in addition to these, you can add your own stories and photos. Customizable features:

• Titles and photos on front cover
• Dedication page
• Back cover (soft cover only)
• You can upload your own digital photos to use throughout your Create-A-Cookbook or use the shared pictures others have uploaded onto the site
• You can add captions to the uploaded photos
• You can also post comments to some of the recipes to make them more personal

Do I have to include all my recipes in my cookbook?

No, you can pick and choose which recipes you want in order to create any kind of cookbook, whether it be full of appetizers, drinks, holiday recipes, etcetera.

Can I use recipes that aren’t in my Recipe Box?

Unfortunately no, but that’s an easy fix. Just add the recipes to your Recipe Box like you normally would and they’ll be all set and ready to go into your Create-A-Cookbook. For more information about adding Allrecipes recipes to your Recipe Box, click here.

You can also add your own private recipes to your Recipe Box for inclusion in your Create-A-Cookbook. To add private recipes to your Recipe Box:

1. Open your Recipe Box and click on the Private Recipes navigational tab.
2. Click Add a New Recipe in the upper right-hand corner.
3. Enter your recipe information in the fields provided.
4. Title, ingredients and directions are required and marked by a red asterisk.

To enter the ingredients, use one line per ingredient.

When you enter directions, do not number the steps: each line will be automatically numbered for you. Please use one line per step.

Once you have finished entering all your information, select a folder location and click on Save Recipes.

Please note: Private recipes are not connected to our database. Therefore, they cannot be added to the Recently Viewed Recipes or Shopping List, and Advanced Print options, scaling and nutrition information are not available for private recipes.

How do I add recipes to my Create-A-Cookbook?

To add recipes, you can do one of two things:

1. Go to your Recipe Box then click “Add Recipes to Create-A-Cookbook.” This will import all the recipes in your Recipe Box into your Create-A-Cookbook, then highlight and remove any recipes that you don’t want to include.
2. Go to your Recipe Box and create a new folder, adding recipes that you want to appear in your Create-A-Cookbook. Open the new folder, then click “Add Recipes to Create-A-Cookbook.” You can still omit recipes by highlighting and clicking on “remove.”

When I look at the preview of my Create-A-Cookbook, why are there pictures for some recipes, but not for others?

The default pictures that accompany the recipes in your Create-A-Cookbook are the images you’ll see on the original recipe page, which are user submitted. Photos will appear automatically in your cookbook as long as one has been submitted and appears on the recipe page.

Can I add my own pictures?

Yes, you can upload any of your own pictures to your Create-A-Cookbook.

What do the “move up” and “move down” buttons mean?

You can use these buttons to change the order in which the recipes appear in your Create-A-Cookbook. Just click on the recipe to highlight it, then use the buttons to move it up or down.

Can I see my cookbook before I order it?

Definitely! Once you’ve put together your cookbook, click the green “Preview Your Book!” button at the bottom of the screen and you will be able to view your cookbook, page-by-page before purchasing.

I’ve previewed my Create-A-Cookbook, now how do I purchase it?

Click on hardcover or soft cover at the left side of your screen, then follow prompts to continue checkout.

What types of book bindings are available?

You are able to choose either a hard or soft cover for your Create-A-Cookbook.

• The hardcover book consists of a sturdy binding with a laminate front cover to display your cover photo and title, the title of your book is also printed on the spine.
• The soft cover is printed on premium glossy heavyweight laminate and displays your front cover photo directly on the cover along with the title of your book; the back page is also customizable.

What is the maximum number of pages I can include in my Create-A-Cookbook?

The price includes 20 pages, but you can have a total of up to 250 pages—every two pages beyond the standard 20 costs $1.00.

What are the system requirements for putting together a Create-A-Cookbook?

Internet Explorer 6.0+(Windows) or Firefox 2.0+(Mac/Windows) is required. Acrobat Reader is also required to view a sample Create-A-Cookbook and to preview the final version of your book, once created. You can download the free software now by clicking here.
